Bad Haircut, Now What?
MAUI, HAWAII -- Aloha. I'm Synneve, the great hair guru, and I'm here teaching you all of my salon secrets. We joke around about having a bad hair day; well to me, it's no joke. I just got back from getting my hair cut and it's a complete disaster. I'm wearing this hat because I'm so embarrassed. Getting bad haircuts is a very frustrating part of life; it can leave you devastated. I hope this never happens to you, but if it does here are the things you can do:
First, Don't panic! Whatever you do, don't panic.
Second, rewash your hair and style your hair as normal. Then you can figure out whether it's the style or the haircut that you don't like.
Next, look in the mirror and decide what kind of haircut you have. Then determine what kind of haircut you want and the difference between the two.
Next, find a photo of exactly what it is you want. Look everywhere, through old photo albums, magazines and on the internet. If you can't find what you want, then draw it on paper. This is important because it gives you and the stylist something concrete to look at together. Hopefully, this will avoid any more misunderstandings.
If you like your stylist and feel comfortable, call them back to have them to fix your hair.
If you are not comfortable with your stylist, then ask friends who they recommend. Or, you can hit the street and look for people with good hair.
If all else fails, go shopping for some stylish hats, headbands, hair ties. Get creative and do whatever you can do to make your hair look good as it grows out.
So remember when you get a bad haircut, don't panic. Your hair is a renewable resource and it will grow back. Now I have to follow my own advice and go get my hair fixed. Thank you so much and I hope you have better hair day than I'm having.
