How to Condition Your Hair
MAUI, HAWAII -- Aloha, I'm Synneve, the great hair guru and I'm here teaching you all of my salon secrets. Today, I want to teach you the correct way to condition your hair.
Many people use way too much conditioner. Then they take it and put it front and center on the tops of their heads. They wonder why their hair is flat and greasy with no body.
There are some salon secrets when conditioning your hair. Here are the ones I recommend:
Step 1 - Pick the appropriate conditioner for your hair type. Read the labels carefully and select the best one for your hair and its needs.
Step 2 - Once you've shampooed your hair, or just wet it with water, place conditioner in the palm of your hand. For fine, thin hair use a very small amount. For medium to thick hair, you can use a little more. Remember not to use too much conditioner. It's wasteful and this will save you money.
Step 3 - Rub Conditioner between your palms and fingers and then apply from the mid-length or ears down to the ends of your hair. Let me say this again, apply conditioner from the mid-length down to the ends of the hair. Once it has been applied to the ends first then you can run your fingers or comb to spread the conditioner throughout your hair.
Never apply conditioner directly onto roots. This causes roots to become flat and greasy.
Step 4 - Leave conditioner on your hair for 1 to 5 minutes.
Step 5 - Rinse thoroughly.
I hope you've enjoyed these tips for conditioning your hair. If you follow these steps, you'll be on your way to a great hair day.
